"Every Saturday we ask some of the funniest people on the web to fill in for us. Our readers get to learn about an awesome site, and we get to finish giving our dog full-body cornrows. Today's guest column is from the cartoonist Nedroid, creator of one of our favorite comics on the web. He's also been known to lend his talents to Cracked articles when something awesome enough needs doing[...]One day not long ago, someone challenged Nedroid to draw 200 three panel comics as fast as he could. Nedroid couldn't say no, due to a rare neurological disorder that prevents him from forming the word. The results were 600 panels of inspired, free association comedy, created in a few days"

Take the time and check these out. Some of them are pretty damn good.

I just found this list of things a man should apparently never do in front of a woman. Not entirely sure how I feel about it, but it looks as if I better stop my Cosby impressions and yelling at other drivers.
Here it is:
"Reveal how much your car cost.
Clean your gun.
Polish high school trophies (which you still have displayed).
Refer to your mother as your best friend.
Rap.
Check out our assistant/roommate/the baby-sitter.
Question our footwear.
Blow-dry your hair.
Tip less than 20 percent.
Celebrity impressions.
Impressions of us.
Forget to carry cash.
Flip it, flop it, swing it around, tug on it, adjust it, scratch it, or do anything that will remind us that it’s just a goofy appendage and not a mystical source of pleasure and satisfaction.
Wii.
Boot and rally.
Scream—at the dog, at the guy who just stole your parking spot, at Bill Belichick. Because, no matter how much Belichick deserves it (cheater!), when we hear you raise your voice, we have an idea of what we’re in for.
Talk about former exploits. Ever.
Use the words bitch, slut, tramp, or whore, unless referring to another man.
Tell us you’re going to kiss us. (Just get on with it!) "

So apparently I've been going along with my so-called complete version of Sung Tongs all these years, not knowing I've been missing track 2 since day 1. It's a great song, but I wish it were a lot longer.

[17 Nov 2007|08:31am] |
Something in the air this morning reminds me of Christmas time. It frightens me.
Things are going well. I'm rocking some serious 3.5s and 4.0s this semester, scoring 94-98%s in Modern art and some A minuses in ceramics (from a prof who's notoriously difficult), but on the other side of that, I've become a bit of a shut in. Living in Lansing doesn't really help, either. My ceramics prof told me to dual major in photo and some sort of 3-d art, probably general sculpture, and to make an effort in fusing the two fields. Apparently I have some talent there, but I've never even slightly considered becoming serious at all in 3-D art. At the very least I may take another 3-d course for the hell of it, possibly taking it a bit more seriously than this current ceramics course.
This last month has proven to me how completely comfortable I can be by myself for long periods of time, although thats not completely true since I have an apartment-mate. I should really major in distracting myself/wasting time; I'm completely caught up on Heroes, Weeds, Lost(duh), Mad Men, The Office, and (ugh)Smallville. Not to mention I just rocked out Mario Galaxy in under 4 days, and by rocked out I mean beaten with the minimal requirements.
Amazing video game, though. On the same level, if not better, than Mario 64. Not many games out there give you the ability to fly across galaxies, turn into a bumblebee, or surf on manta rays. And yes, there are still penguin races of all kinds. Bravo, Nintendo.
Also contributing to my lack of social life would be the consistent 7/6:30am shifts at work on the worst of days, usually Friday and Saturday mornings. I almost can't believe how unlucky I get when it comes to my free time. When I have to work the next morning, plenty going on. When I don't, theres absolutely nothing to do or nobody who isn't busy. Its come to the point where I told my employers to cut back on the hours if it means more than 2 of these retarded shifts a week. I know that eventually after college these kind of work hours may be unavoidable, but I don't think I'm ready for it just yet.

If anybody is interested, I need couple of last minute quotes for an article I'm writing on "Predatory Lending". Said article will never be seen by anybody except myself and my teacher. If anybody has any experience or opinion concerning predatory lending (constant credit card offers/credit card debt due to unfair lending practices/etc), any sort of statement will probably do.
Thank you thank you thank you in advance.
On a side note, my weekend was about neutral.
minus side: -I saw about 3 other Hunter S Thompson's in the same party besides myself. -On the same topic, I'm going to punch the next person who mentions "bats" to me while I wear the costume. I suppose I walked right into that one, though. -I got spit on by Laura Bell's super charming boyfriend. I'm perhaps a bit angry for restraining myself there.
plus side: -I easily had the best Hunter costume of them all. It takes more than an Hawaiian shirt, glasses, and a hat, people. -Got to see Ween play a 2.5 hour set on Saturday night. Words cannot explain.

When exactly are all you Austin-ites coming back to the mitten around Christmas time? Mr. Mets and I are trying to plan a trip during break at some point.

"Ross can be used as a given name, typically for males, but is also a typical family name for people of Scottish decent. The name is of Scottish origin, and means "good looking.""
Thats right.
I'm going to explode before I get through all of these 7am shifts I have in the next week (including tomorrow).
It has given me a ton of me time though, which is both a blessing and a curse.

The Virginia house is finally a thing of the past, and Bryan and I are completely moved in. Getting everything cleaned up in Virginia was pretty trying. I probably got rid of something like 20 bags of garbage using my father's huge suburban, and we had to retire all of the remaining gunson 1 couches as well. For those of you who remember these, say goodbye to the godspeed couch, and the big white pullout couch that was the bed of many in the basement of gunson 1. The godspeed couch is still intact in the Virginia basement, but the other one had to be smashed apart. I am sorry I had to miss said smashing. So goodbye Virginia house. We had some good times. From the move in weekend (the infamous Matthew, Batch, Phil, and I cushion war), the halloween party, my 21st b-day, jenny's b-day, trippin balls with Erik's gigantic box of colored balls, to various dance party's, beer pong games, and neverending rounds of guitar Hero, Wii sports and smash bros melee, Virginia house, I salute you.
Although my place is anything but organized, I don't have to work a 40 hour week for the first time in 2 weeks, so I'll have some time to hang up some art and start making my room function able. The general idea thus far is that only original art may be hung in out living room, so beer signs and the cranberries posters are out of the question. Bryan already has tons o' stuff hung up, and i know with all the (mediocre) art I've made in the past few years, I could probably triple what we have already. My plan is to post some photos once the place is at least near completion, because seriously, this apartment is rad.
Comcast eventually came yesterday, but all the internet activation stuff one has to go through isn't working at all, so i doubt my heated conversations with Comcast reps are anything but over.
Something tells me i should have gone with AT&T or another provider, because this shit is bananas.
My computer is back and running sweeter than ever. Bryan is trying to convince me to get back into wow after my 2+ year absence. Even though i swore off ever getting into that time sink again, somehow it has become very tempting. It would be all to easy to get into; my hang out crew has diminished significantly, and I know how easy it is for me to shut myself in a room, hacking away at computer generated models of mid evil fantasy beasts until my brain explodes. Hopefully I can resist the urge and put my time into what i really should be doing: hanging out with neglected friends and getting back into reading. After all, I'll probably be wasting enough time in front of the tube when all these nifty Wii games start coming out.
Alright, Back to work.

One of these days I'll actually post something about myself. In short summary, I'm still in a house-apartment transition for another 24 hours, so everything is a bit scattered for the time being. I don't really feel like I have my feet on the ground at the moment, what with cleaning and organizing, working 40 hours last and this week, figuring out my schedule (and possible study abroad plans w00t), as well as some other personal bs.
Getting everything taken care of with the Virginia house will make for some pretty nice progress, methinks, but part of the problem is that I need to learn to cross off people from my life that don't give a shit about me, i suppose. There's no point in reaching out to someone you care about if the feeling isn't mutual, and the sooner I accept that, the better.
Has anybody taken those nutty sociology tests what put you in a 4 letter category? I spent 30 minutes at work filling out this one (http://www.socionicstypeassistant.com/stc/home.html) where you just pick words that describe yourself. The accuracy of these things always shocks me.
In case anyone actually cares, I'm an INTJ. "Wishing to control nature, the INTJ "scientist" probably has more difficulty than all other types in making up his or her mind in mate selection."
Ain't that the truth.

[25 Jul 2007|10:34pm] |
My biggest problem is always the same goddamn thing. Procrastination. Pretty much everything in my life is affected by it.
Buying groceries, anything at work, finding a place to live, paying the bills, school, GIRLS.
One of these days i'll get it right, eventually.
